We are a Primary Care Clinic serving patients of all ages with an emphasis on health optimization and lifestyle medicine. We provide options to be cared for at varying levels of commitment ranging from basic primary care services with a functional medicine approach to full spectrum health optimization.
Our Story
Aspire Functional Medicine was created from a lifelong obsession with the human body. Dr. Fondren was initially influenced by time he spent with working with his father in orthopedic clinics and surgery centers. He then attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was introduced to the many treatment modalities that have now become part of the Functional/Integrative Medical framework. After working as a structural massage therapist for many years he attended an Osteopathic College to deepen his knowledge on manual therapy and develop the skills needed to provide a truly holistic approach to medicine.
Aspire is built around the concept that in order to achieve true health we need to integrate all the gifts that God has given us. The polarizing approaches to health care that are so pervasive today leave many people frustrated. At Aspire we aim to meet our patients where they stand and provide the best healthcare possible within the framework they desire. We believe in the necessity of lifestyle interventions coupled with appropriate use of pharmacology. Better living through ancestral practices coupled with the wonders of modern science. We’re pleased to announce the addition of Vicky Armstrong, an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ANP), to our practice. Vicky has over twenty years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner with the last nine years spent working at Atlanta Integrative and Internal Medicine. Her experience at AIIM grounded her in Functional medicine as she helped clients manage and overcome a variety of chronic health issues, ranging from diabetes and blood pressure management to issues caused by mold and toxin exposure.
Prior to joining AIIM, Vicky worked in traditional healthcare environments as a hospitalist for Piedmont Newnan Hospital, in cardiology for Emory TEC Heart and Vascular and Cardiology and Associates in Panama City and has spent time in family practice and as an Emergency Room practitioner. Her scope of practice provides a well-rounded lens through which she can offer treatment solutions. Her approach is to meet her clients where they are with options that meet their specific needs and circumstances.
Vicky recently relocated to Mobile to be closer to family and she’s excited for the
opportunity to continue to serve clients, delivering the kind of health and wellness care that does more than just treat symptoms, but rather, seeks to get to the root of the issue. She is open to seeing patients and will work closely with Dr. Fondren to utilize his expertise to inform her patient treatment plans.
